September’s Community Assembly turns from mesh hardware to a different kind of system: how we think about working with AI. Sam presents Systems Thinking for AI Success, applying systems theory to working with LLMs — especially agents — and making the case for why that’s a more fruitful path than the default chatbot-style back-and-forth.

🧭 Community Assembly: Systems Thinking for AI Success
Presented by Sam
Most people interact with LLMs one prompt at a time — a chatbot pattern of back-and-forth questions and answers. Sam’s talk makes the case for a different mental model: treating your work with LLMs and agents as a system, with feedback loops, constraints, and structure, rather than a single conversation to get right in one shot.
Expect a practical look at what systems thinking brings to working with AI agents in particular, and why it tends to produce better, more reliable outcomes than the default chatbot pattern most people fall into.
🤝 Members’ Council
The node-host outreach working group (Adam, Jason, Tyler, and Ken) is expected to bring a draft form letter for potential node hosts to the Council for review. We’ll also be presenting a formal proposal for the ongoing room rental expense ($75/meeting). Beyond that: working group reports, any other proposals members want to bring forward, and open floor discussion. If you’d like to add something to the agenda, email events@capitalmesh.net ahead of time or raise it during the agenda review at the start of the meeting.

After the Members’ Council, we’ll break into open working group time — LoRa, Reticulum, node-host outreach, or just hang out and talk shop.
